P0944. Hydraulic pressure unit loss of pressure

Image
What Does the P0944 Code Mean? Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0944 stands for “Hydraulic Pressure Unit Loss of Pressure.” This is a generic powertrain code that applies to select vehicles with OBD-II. The transmission  valve body  houses various valves, passages, and solenoids, which direct the flow of transmission fluid. These fluid passages can be widened to create pockets that contain steel, nylon, or rubber check balls. The PCM will set a P0944 code if it detects a loss of hydraulic pressure in the transmission. A transmission oil pump is used to deliver transmission fluid and pressurize the system. This pump is usually connected to the engine so that it can quickly respond to the engine’s demands To keep the pump from creating an excessive amount of fluid pressure, the transmission uses a pressure regulator valve or a spool valve and spring combination. The vehicle’s computer will set a P0944 code if the PCM or TCM detects a loss of hydraulic pressure in the transm...

Diesel particulate filters remove about ninety percent of carbon particles (or soot) from a vehicle’s diesel exhaust. Most of these filters include a DPF housing that contains a filtrt. This filter traps large soot particles and lets exhaust gasses flow through and exit the vehicle through the tailpipe. Soot particles can clog the DPF, which can increase exhaust back pressure. The powertrain control module (PCM) monitors exhaust pressure using a sensor. Diesel particulate filters remove about ninety percent of carbon particles (or soot) from a vehicle’s diesel exhaust. Once the PCM detects that your exhaust’s back pressure has exceeded a certain limit (the exhaust passes through the filter), it will trigger a regeneration procedure. The process involves incinerating the clogged particles and releasing them through the  tailpipe . However, if the PCM detects that the back pressure still fails to reach a certain limit, it will trigger the P2463 code and activate the  chec...

Starting problam. If the engine stalls or fails to start while stop and start control is operating, DTC P160300 will be stored. Using the GTS, the freeze frame data recorded the moment the DTC is stored can be read. Serviceability has been enhanced by enabling the cause of an engine stall or engine start failure which occurred while stop and start control was operating to be checked using the freeze frame data. DTC No. Detection Item DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area Warning Indicate Memory Note P160300 Engine Stall History Both of the following conditions are met for 0.5 seconds or more (1 trip detection logic): Engine stopped by stop and start control and engine hood opened*1.
